All the underground maniacs, me included rejoiced in moribund when Autopsy put the pieces back together and reformed in 2008/2009. The band always a cult favorite was happy to see how their name, over the years, had grown to more than just cult status. What was originally supposed to be a short-lived reunion became full-blown […]

Well, Chris Reifert and co. are still at it and back with album number 9, their fourth (depending on what you view the 2015 Skull Grinder LP) after returning from an extended hiatus with Macabre Eternal in 2011, an OK if an underwhelming return to the fray. But then we got 2013s The Headless Ritual […]

After 16 years of delivering punishing, extreme heavy metal, California’s Abscess has decided to call it quits. The band’s sixth and final studio album, Dawn of Inhumanity, was released in March on Peaceville Records. Abscess drummer/vocalist, Chris Reifert, issued the following statement: “Greetings, sickos. We need to inform you that Abscess has officially broken up. […]

With 27 tracks spanning six studio releases (along with a few live numbers and a demo gem), Torn from the Grave is the definitive Autopsy collection, and fans of the ye olde school of death metal need look no further for moronic, blood-soaked, brain-bashing fun. The CD itself is a beautiful digipack, featuring four fold […]
