King Conquer are finally gracing us with their new album entitled America’s Most Haunted. Hailing from Naples, Florida, King Conquer play a form of brutal deathcore. People these days tend to think less of deathcore as most of the scene is becoming quite stale. So every now and then gems surface amidst the stale air and present us with some fine quality records with this being one of them.
“Overdraft” starts the album with an industrial intro leading into the devastating and hateful “6 Gallon Gasoline Stomach.” It amazes me how beautifully the intro merges into the first track. From the moment the first note is hit you know this is going to be an album that will knock you on your ass. On “Wasted Potential” the band experiments with some intense and evil blackened melodies that appear over a few of the segments in the song. The song eventually fades out and bleeds into an interlude called “Frequencies,” which is downright chilling as they continue with that industrial edge. Giving it a cold feeling that eventually sticks with the instrumental all the way to the title track. On the title track “America’s Most Haunted” King Conquer keeps the cold industrial feel and ups the ante on the aggression levels of this album. With the rest of the album King Conquer touches base with a lot more melodies and gives it a kind of depressing nature. Still retaining it’s hateful and breakdown filled path dedicated to the destruction of humanity.
The production on this beast of an album is beyond amazing. Everything is clear and audible yet still containing a bit of filth. The vocals are great, instantly bringing to mind bands like Molotov Solution and I Declare War and the instruments and audio sound mixed to perfection. These guys know their instruments and present us with some amazing talent that needs to be heard.
This album isn’t for the faint of heart. This album bleeds destruction. Most people will probably pass on this but that is your loss. For those of us that still follow and love deathcore. Here is an album that needs to be played.

This is actually better than the new Oceano IMO
on Nov 26th, 2010 at 11:46So, is it “American Haunted” or “America’s Most Haunted”?
on Nov 26th, 2010 at 14:51Oh snap, my bad. Yes it’s America’s Most Haunted.
on Nov 26th, 2010 at 16:23Fixed the “American Haunted” -thing.
on Nov 26th, 2010 at 18:41This is the perfect example of a record that is greater than the sum of its parts: the songwriting is fair, as is the musicianship. But the passion [or hatred] that underlies every song, and the amazing production made this click for me.
on Nov 27th, 2010 at 01:51Sweet review Jesse, I’ve got this on pre-order, so my interest is peaked now!
on Nov 27th, 2010 at 02:15Thanks!
on Nov 27th, 2010 at 03:59Is there such a categories for Amerikan bands as “gaycore”? I think that should be ones. Skinny jeans + karate class mosh pits + windswept haircuts = why amerika is horrible place for music. Go to Hot Topic children with mother’s credit cards. Hah!
on Nov 27th, 2010 at 20:50^^ You Sir are an idiot.
Great review for a band that actually deserves it.
on Nov 28th, 2010 at 03:33agree with the guy above .
on Nov 29th, 2010 at 22:41I am an idiot when you have a name like faust666? Hahaha!! Don’t be ridiculous…..Blackmetal is dead and Satan is completely embarrassed by young metalheads who are just getting in the know. Go listen to Dimmu Borgir and wear some corpsepaint. Lame……
on Dec 4th, 2010 at 16:05aah the good ol “you have an incriminating user name\avatar” argument… so strong, so logically sound, especially coming from someone named after a bodily function, and not a particularly pleasant one at that.
Read some Goethe you dimwit and perhaps then you’ll see the light and realize that unlike your Hot Topic-y frame of reference, there are, in fact, people infinitely more informed than you.
You Sir are still an idiot. Now go post at B-mouth and Lambgoat.
