Debridement
Drowning in a Cesspool of Malform and Malady

Ireland’s slam master, Connor Brown (Oncology, Putrefy), has finally released the debut album for his solo project-Debridement, with quite a lovely name for an album: Drowning in a Cesspool of Malform and Malady.  We get 10 songs of porno-grindish slamming death metal at right under 30 minutes.

Opening with “Adrenochrome”.  I pick up on a strong Vulvectomy influence.  The song has gutturals, some cool bass guitar lines and the song has a bunch of grind blasts-drum machine I gather and very catchy and heavy slams.  The song titles absolutely rule beyond belief.  “Fisted Sister’s Decapitated Mister” has a little Macabre nursery rhyme jingle to the song title-opening up with a blast immediately and then going into slams then back into gravity whirlwind tornado potato blasts. Very vicious and again catchy beyond all belief.   The 2.14 slam part I picked up a town and threw it across the ocean and created a sinkhole that nearly swallowed 1/2 the world.  Meanwhile Connor was having a nice pint when the sinkhole almost swallowed him, but he picked it up and threw it back at me.  WTF, I thought-here we are playing sinkhole table tennis.  It was quite fun.

“Didn’t I see Melania Trump in a Porn Mag” is the best song title all year.  Nothing will top this genius title.  OMG-I cannot stop laughing while typing it.  Beginning with more grind hurricane whirlwind blasts the song then gets into a serious slow beat down slam equipped with gutturals to lop your head clean off your shoulders.  I saw heads flying everywhere, outside my window when I blasted this track.  Nice Trump little snippets at the end of the song-again-gut-wrenchingly hysterical. Really if you’re going to do anything later today make sure to put a “Banana in the Tail Pipe”.  This song title can obviously have multiple meanings-regardless another home run of a song title.  Nice blast sections with heavy guitars and mid-paced part that will surely collapse chest cavities from here to China!  The 1.27 beat down slam will cause you to drive your car erratically all over the place and potentially mow down a herd of wildebeests-so my advice to you is be careful!   Can you imagine cleaning up that sort of bloody mess?

Debridement’sDrowning in a Cesspool of Malform and Malady is a guilty pleasure.  If you like bands like Vulvectomy, Lividity, Composted, the ultra-slow-down heavy slams of Internal Bleeding, then you have to check Debridement out.  Connor Brown has done a great job at creating a killer album which is fun, super heavy and slammin!
