Swedish power metal panzerwagen SABATON have just unleashed their latest music video for the track “Uprising”. Taken from the band’s newest album Coat of Arms, the track―and now the video―are about the Warsaw Uprising that took place in 1944.

With the Soviet army looming towards the city, the Polish resistance and the Armia Krajowa tried to liberate Warsaw from the Nazi occupation, thusly underlining Poland’s sovereignty before communist-backed Polish Committee of National Liberation could assume control.

The battle carried on for 63 days, before the Polish resistance was forced to surrender.Thousand lives on both sides were scarred, wounded, lost and dead. The bloodshed also left nearly 200 000 civilians dead.

SABATON‘s latest album Coat of Arms was released last May on Nuclear Blast Records―the band’s first release for the label. The album has been reviewed by our staff.
