NEW YORK EXTREME METAL BAND BURNING HUMAN SET TO UNLEASH DEBUT ALBUM; U.S. LIVE DATES ANNOUNCED

New York-based extreme metal band BURNING HUMAN has completed work on its debut album, titled Resurrection Through Fire. The record will drop on April 21, 2009 via E1 Music (formerly KOCH Records).

Resurrection Through Fire administers ten frighteningly intense tracks of underground death metal that inflict lethal doses of crushing brutality, relentless speed and blast-furnace vocal power with a surgical precision. The album was tracked at The Recording Company in New York with Tim Lynch and Rick Sullivan and was produced and mixed by famed metal guitarist James Murphy (Obituary, Death, Testament, Disincarnate) — who also contributed a number of blistering guest guitar solos to the record — at Florida’s SafeHouse Productions Studios. Resurrection through Fire’s artwork was designed by renowned metal artist Bjoern Goosses (Amon Amarth, Job for a Cowboy, Leng Tch’e, Zyklon).

Originally formed in 1995, BURNING HUMAN features in its ranks current Shadows Fall drumming sensation Jason Bittner who delivers his most impressive performance to date on the record. Long known as one of metal’s best drummers, Bittner has graced the covers of the world’s top drumming magazines over the course of his career, including DRUM!, DRUMMER, Modern Drummer, and Rhythm. Among his many accolades, Bittner has topped the polls as both DRUM! and Modern Drummer’s “#1 Metal Drummer” and has won DRUM!’s “#1 Rising Drumming Star” award. The speed and intensity of BURNING HUMAN’s music has allowed Bittner to demonstrate the full range of his playing ability as he deals lightning-fast fills, hyperactive double bass footwork and punishing blast beats in spades.

In support of Resurrection Through Fire, BURNING HUMAN has announced a number of U.S. live performances including a special appearance at the 2009 New England Metal and Hardcore Festival, where the band will share the stage with Lamb of God, Napalm Death, Suffocation and more amongst the fest’s featured acts. A full listing of upcoming BURNING HUMAN live dates follows this message.

On the topic of the album, Bittner comments, “After 10 years lying in a dormant state, I am quite excited about that fact that Burning Human is finally going to release “Resurrection Through Fire” with a proper label, and will back it with live dates! This band really never got a proper chance way back in the day, due mostly in part to my constant search for a “touring band.” Fast forward to 2009, and obviously my “touring band” desires are well taken care of with Shadows Fall, and since we won’t be busy until later this year, I now have some time to really dedicate myself to Burning Human. I’m extremely happy with this record. I’m really proud of the music and the performances and I hope the people out there will enjoy it as well!”
