Christopher Bowes of Scotland’s pirate metal outfit Alestorm recently announced his new side project Gloryhammer on the band’s Facebook page. Labeled heroic power metal, Gloryhammer draws influence from bands such as Rhapsody, Stratovarius, and HammerFall. Along with Christopher Bowes, the Gloryhammer lineup is rounded out by vocalist Antonio Trimmioni, James Cartwright on bass, and guitarists Paul Templing and Gareth Murdock with a drummer to join their ranks in the near future. Three Gloryhammer demos titled “Magic Dragon”, “The Unicorn Invasion Of Dundee”, and “Hail To Crail” can be heard on the band’s MySpace page.
