First things first – this is a gonna be a really short review, as this really isn’t my cup of tea – I honestly could not make it through this whole album. Actually, I couldn’t make it through a whole song. Why you might ask? The vocals – reminding much of Rush’s Geddy Lee, hitting some really high notes that make me cringe. Musically, it’s not that bad at all. As the promo sheet states, what we have here is progressive melodic metal, and it’s played very well.

Mehida is comprised of some known musicians – Mikko Harkin (ex-Kotipelto, ex-Sonata Arctica), Jani Stefanovic (Sins of Omission, Divinefire, ex-Am I Blood), and Thomas Vicstrom (Therion, ex-Candlemass), as well as Markus Niemispelto and Jarno Raitio, though this means nothing to me, as I’m not a fan of any of those bands, with the exception of Candlemass on a rare occasion.

As far as any details of the songs themselves, all I can really point out is the beginning of “Mulititude”, where some harsh vocals open things up, then give way to that high pitch again.

If you’re a fan of progressive melodic metal, or higher-end vocals (such as the aforementioned Geddy Lee), then by all means check it out – you may suit you just fine, but as for me, the few minutes I spent (on several different occasions) on this were exrtremely painful and uncomfortable.
