New SKELETONWITCH album, ‘BREATHING THE FIRE’ due Oct. 13; Band to tour with Children of Bodom this fall
Midwestern metal warriors SKELETONWITCH, who have performed more than 300 concerts worldwide since the release of their acclaimed 2007 Prosthetic debut “Beyond The Permafrost,” will release their new album “Breathing The Fire” on Oct. 13. The album, produced by Jack Endino (High On Fire, Nirvana, Toxic Holocaust), is currently being recorded in Seattle at both Studio Litho (Deftones, Queensryche, Botch) owned by Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard and Endino’s own Soundhouse Recording. A picture of the band with Endino appears at http://tinyurl.com/witchendino
“It’s exciting to hear the new material coming to fruition,” says guitarist Scott Hedrick. “Working with ‘Full Metal’ Jack Endino is killer. He’s fucking amazing at what he does, and he’s a real mad scientist in the studio!”
Adds guitarist Nate Garnette, “Things are going well in the studio. We just finished tracking the drums, which are sounding fucking great. Now it’s time for the guitars!”
In the coming weeks, SKELETONWITCH will post a series of behind-the-scenes videos documenting the recording process. After tracking is completed, the group will headline the two-week “Stone Dead For Summer” tour, which also features Saviours and Trap Them and kicks off in Seattle on July 9. The band will then team with Children Of Bodom for a fall tour, which commences Sept. 18 in Providence, R.I. Their current itinerary is listed below (more dates TBA).
Since signing with Prosthetic in 2007, SKELETONWITCH has toured with a who’s who of heavy metal, including Danzig, Dimmu Borgir, Amon Amarth, Municipal Waste, Nachtmystium, Dying Fetus, Job For A Cowboy, Hate Eternal and many more. For more information, visit www.myspace.com/skeletonwitch.
