Here is another example of how great French Death Metal bands are. Recueil Morbide, which translates to English to ‘Morbid Collection’ blast their ways into toad throat lovers everywhere this year with the release of their album which just happens to be called Morbid Collection.  If there were any initial knock on this record it could be that their name in French what the album title is in English.

Morbid Collection starts off with the extremely catchy and fast “Ritual Time”.  “Ritual time” is one of those album openers that hooks you with the intense drum work and the well placed guitar harmonies over the intro riff.Honestly the production on this reminds a lot of how the last two Aborted records have been. Heavy! If you are in to Aborted, or Suffocation or Prostitute Disfigurement you would probably love this well put together gore box of brutality.

I think my favorite song on this record is “Belated Revenge”.  It has the best circle pit riffs on top of the following the bouncing ball toad throat part with Necrophagist styled guitar shreddey afterwards. I click on this band on accident and Youtube and I am glad I checked them out.Songs like “With this Hate” are savagely intense and for some reason there is some clean vocals on this tune.  If there was any downside to this record this might be one of the things that bother me as the other 95% of this record is a pure brutal death metal assault.

Recueil Morbide are also big fans of Benighted which is evident in the vocal delivery and a lot of the guitar parts. This band really like to ride grooves out and it shows in the incredible in syncness of the guitars and the drummer.The last song on the record “Travel to See” has some very epic arpeggiated guitar chords over some very tasteful double bass fills. “Travel to See” is also the longest song on the record at six and a half minutes.

One really does need to have an appreciation for guttural vocals to enjoy this record. It very much adds to the total package of Morbid Collection. Another thing that I notice is some of the riffs in “Travel to See” are note wise similar to the beginning of the first song on the record “Ritual Time”.

Overall, this is an extremely out of the blue well put together brutal technical death metal record from France that I would recommend to anyone that likes killer productions and enjoy very clean and tightly played death metal.
