Finally after three years since their debut EP, Diskreet present us with their first full length album and what an album it is. Hailing from Topeka, Kansas this quintet plays a form of devastating technical death metal that annihilates all who oppose. If machines started to decimate and take over humanity this would be their soundtrack.

From the moment one hits play this album will tear through your speakers as your jaw drops to the floor from the sheer amount of technical brilliance that zaps your head into bits. After a short intro entitled “Engage” the band quickly jumps into “Valley of Kings.” Imagine being flayed alive by a Gundam, that’s what this song feels like. Brutal death metal chugs and death defying sweeps make way for some serious guttural vocals that constantly batter one into a bloody pulp. Eventually around the two minute mark a short solo seeps in that is mind numbingly beautiful and flat out righteous.

After that it’s back into the blasting, which carries over into the next song “Serpents Tongue”. After these two songs mercifully pound the listener into dust “Spinal Cord Collection” manages to plant itself into your ears with some sick sweeps and tech as fuck riffs. Imagine a cross between Prostitute Disfigurement and Spawn of Possession. Brutal and mechanical this song is awesome. A sweet breakdown with some added sweeps closes out the song. The rest of the album is magnificent. From the heart wrenching end of “We Are Legion” to the cold and precise attack in “Pawning the Sanctuary” Diskreet managed to put together an amazing and well thought out album.

Their really isn’t a downfall on this album. Three years in the making and it’s a phenomenal work of art. If one has a hankering for some brutal technical death metal, then by all means give these guys a listen.
