COLOSSEUM singer Juhani Palomäki found dead
Finnish doom metal outfit COLOSSEUM has decided to disband, after vocalist Juhani Palomäki was found dead last weekend (May 15th, 2010). The singer, who also sung in Yearning, was 32 years old.
Palomäki’s death was confirmed on the band’s official website: “We have lost a brilliant musician and a true friend, who will be greatly missed not only by us, but by his loved ones and countless people all around the world who have been touched by his art. Farewell, Juhani. May you rest in peace.”
Not too long ago, the band had finished recording the final chapter in the band’s musical trilogy that included critically acclaimed albums Chapter 1: Delirium (2007) and Chapter 2: Numquam (2009). In order to honor the singer’s memory, Chapter 3: Parasomnia will be released as planned in the fall of 2010 via Firebox Records.
